Hijab collection with Dolce & Gabbana

7 January 2016

This collection will definitely be popular in the middle east, For the elite this will be the perfect gift for an occassion like EID or just a casual spend. For D&G, this feels like a marketing ploy to gain more an elite middle eastern demographic.
A lot of people, I personally know from Dubai, just said it's not a big deal to them because the hijab is a cultural aspect and they could probably go and get the same hijabi styled cloth designed themselves or buy it for a cheaper just unbranded. Although some did say its a step forward for hijabi fashion, as it's slowing making it's way to the lime light, they feel a sort of acceptance within the fashion industry.
Dolce & Gabbana is to launch a collection of hijabs and abayas targeting wealthy Muslim women in the Middle East.
The debut line by the Italian luxury fashion house features headscarves and the loose, full-length outer garment favoured by some Muslim women.
The hijabs come in sheer georgette and satin weave charmeuse fabrics, with D&G signature lace detailing on the hems. The Arabian edition of Style.com, the fashion website where the pieces were revealed, reported: “They also appear to feature a lightweight and dramatic drape.”
